A nonlinear differential equation describing the evolution of the intermediate reagent concentration is derived for the generalized Schlogl model of a chemical reaction in an imperfect system. It is demonstrated that concentration waves corresponding to a periodic analytic solution of the evolutionary equation arise in the imperfect system. Conditions of existence of periodic and solitary waves are formulated depending on the concentration of the initial component and the imperfection parameters of the examined systemru
